Moon Wellness Space - Outside the Office

Outside of therapy, Moon Wellness Space offers speaking engagements and other forms of outreach. The wellness approach considers the induvial in their entirety. I believe this also means meeting clients/potential clients where they are. Additionally I find passion and importance in community outreach to continuously spread mental health importance and attempt to break the stigma. Domestic Violence Awareness Month Panel

The college of Public Service at the University of Houston-Downtown hosted a panel to raise awareness on domestic violence & intimate partner violence. This is a topic I am very passionate about. I was honored to be the counselor from counseling services at UHD to be apart of this panel. 

BIPOC Mental Health Awareness Month Blog Interview

I was honored to be asked to do an interview on my experience as a BIPOC counselor. Outside of Moon Wellness space, I work at University of Houston-Downtown as a counselor as was able to discuss my experience working with the diverse community we have on campus.

TCA Professional Growth Conference

The annual TCA growth conference is place where many mental health professionals come together. There are multiple session on many topics and I was able to speak on The Strong Black Woman Schema at the 2024 conference in Dallas, TX. 

Vinyl & Brews

Vinyl & Brews is an event dedicated to making mental health a more palatable conversation by incorporating the topic of mental health into unique & unexpected spaces.

The Restoration: Mother & Daughter Experience

The Restoration was a mother daughter experience where attendees were able participate in relationship building activities and hear from multiple speakers, including myself. I spoke on rebuilding the mother/daughter relationship after trauma has taken place. Attendees were able to have an open discussion as well as ask questions.

UST Brown Bag Series: Black Mental Health Matters

It was an honor to present my TCA Conference presentation at my alma mater as part of their Black History Month Brown Bag series. I had the opportunity to speak with current clinical mental health counseling master's students about the Strong Black Woman Schema, helping to deepen their understanding of Black women's mental health.
